A leading American Pop artist of the 1960s, Tom Wesselmann’s monumental and bold artworks are a cornerstone of Pop Culture today. He rejected abstract expressionism in favor of bold representations of everyday life. His paintings of the classical subjects, the nude, still life and landscape incorporated ordinary objects and advertising ephemera, updating the tradition with an image of contemporary life.
